Around 20 young participants — boys and girls — took part in the first workshop of 2026.Through a creative and hands-on process ♻️, they explored how old and discarded textiles can be transformed into new pieces with renewed value 👗. This inspiring workshop 🌟 marked the first step with our Kumanovo group 📍, as part of the preparations for the upcoming fashion show within Fashion Weekend.

The workshop focused on recycling as a sustainable practice 🌿 — reducing textile waste, reusing materials, and creating unique fashion pieces with environmental awareness 🌍✨.

A special emphasis was placed on weaving 🧶 as a traditional craft and an important part of cultural heritage. Through practical work, participants were introduced to the basics of weaving techniques, developing a sense of craftsmanship, patience, and creativity 👐.

This process not only reconnects young people with tradition, but also opens new possibilities for its contemporary application in

fashion design 👠.

🎉 These unique handmade creations will soon take the spotlight, telling their story on the runway.

Weaving is an art that requires 🎯 patience, knowledge, and dedication.

The process includes several stages: warping, winding, threading, reed drawing, and weaving.

🔹 The first and most important phase – warping – is the foundation without which nothing can begin.
👵 In the past, women who mastered this skill were known as the true guardians of tradition.

🪡 The following steps, such as winding the warp and threading the yarn, are also essential parts of the process leading to the creation of the final woven piece.

🧶 At the “Niko Nestor” Secondary School in Kumanovo, weaving became more than just a craft — it was an expression of art, heritage, and heartfelt connection to our roots.

💫 Under the mentorship of Damjan Ristovski, 25 young participants created with passion and purpose, reviving the magic of the ancient Macedonian craft passed down from our grandmothers.

🌈 Working with recycled materials, colorful threads, and vibrant textiles, they wove unique fabrics filled with personal stories and cultural meaning.

🌱 This was more than a workshop — it was a step toward a sustainable future, a celebration of cultural preservation, and a call for young people to create with love and purpose.
